Event: Speak Truth To Power Voices From Beyond the Dark

(2012-05-30) A performance of Speak Truth To Power: Voices From Beyond the Dark will be hosted by the Rialto Center for the Arts at Georgia State University in Atlanta on June 26. The performance will mark the National Center for Civil and Human Rights Groundbreaking. This performance will star Alexis Bledel, Charles Dutton, Marcia Gay Harden, Dawnn Lewis, Malcolm-Jamal Werner, and Lynn Whitfield. Tickets are on sale now.

Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Ariel Dorfman was inspired to write a theatrical presentation based on interviews with over 50 human rights activists from around the world. The resulting play, Speak Truth To Power: Voices from Beyond the Dark, was presented at the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts in Washington, DC in September 2000, and broadcast as part of PBS's The Kennedy Center Presents. The play has been produced across the United States and performed by major actors in Athens, Barcelona, Cape Town, Florence, Geneva, Helsinki, Hong Kong, Johannesburg, Kinshasa, Madrid, Mantua, Milan, Phnom Penh, Rome, Seoul, and Sydney.
