John Zurick

Director of Operations, RFK Compass

John Zurick is the Director of Operations for the RFK Compass Program and the Founder/President of ZQI, Inc.

Mr. Zurick has been a social entrepreneur since he founded ZQI, Inc. in 1994. He heads a leadership advisory consulting practice focused exclusively on social sector initiatives. He works in close partnership with clients on mission development, board and executive leadership development, strategic planning, social enterprise initiatives, revenue generation, and turnarounds. Current and recent clients include: RFK Center for Justice and Human Right, HELP USA, Measures for Justice, VIA Character Institute, Indiana Supreme Court, Ross School and Ross Institute, New York City Ballet, Erich Kunzel Center for Arts and Education, Prague International Ballet Competition, Healthy Children/Healthy Future Coalition on Childhood Obesity, and the Detroit Music Hall Center for Performing Arts. Mr. Zurick and ZQI, Inc. have been managing RFK Compass operations since the program’s inception in early 2010.

Mr. Zurick began his career as a producer of off-Broadway plays that ran in Boston, New York, and London. He capitalized and founded Finis, one of America’s first digitally-based film and video post-production companies. He is the executive producer of the full-length documentary film, Bill Monroe, Father of Bluegrass. He also has served as executive director of the Cincinnati Ballet and marketing director of the Cincinnati Symphony, where he helped create Riverbend Music Center, the orchestra’s 16,000-seat outdoor concert venue, one of the arts industry’s first and most successful social enterprises.

Mr. Zurick holds an M.F.A. from Brandeis University and a B.A. from the State University of New York, Brockport.
