Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals and Transgender Rights

The rights of lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgender promote the full recognition of civil and political rights and the fight against all forms of prejudice and discrimination towards LGBTs. These rights have little or no formal acknowledgement. This implies that often lesbians, gays, and transgender do not have the right to marry, to create a family, to be recognized as a couple, to inherit from the deceased partner, just to mention a few.

LGBT is an acronym used to identify lesbians, gays, bisexuals and trans gender. The term LGBT was first used in mid ‘90s, and has become since then part of the language of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender communities, and by gay press in English speaking countries.
