'No Rest for Cyber Activists'

(2012-06-22) IPS recently published an article - 'No Rest for Cyber Activists - highlighting the RFK Training Institute's recent Social Media & Human Rights Course and the importance of social media in the Middle East and North Africa after the "Arab Spring." Among the panelists at the course was Speak Truth To Power defender Rana Husseini of Jordan. Ms. Husseini, a respected journalist, is well-known for breaking the silence about the crime of honor killings in her home country. At the training, she stressed the importance of social media in breaking taboos and providing a space to discuss human rights issues.
