RFK Center
RFK Center board member on poverty in America

Dear Friends:

Last week, RFK Center Board Member and Georgetown University Law School Peter Edelman was featured in a fascinating and wide-ranging interview in The Nation magazine, which I wanted to share with you.

Peter recalled the powerful impact that serving as a legislative assistant to Robert F. Kennedy had on him, and how it raised his awareness of the widespread, dire poverty in the American South in the 1960s. He also highlighted in the interview how too many Americans, and especially children, still suffer from poverty, even while we no longer have the focus on fighting poverty we once did. "Where is the Robert Kennedy of this generation?" he asks.

You can read it at The Nation's website..

Warmly,
Kerry Kennedy
