Speak Truth To Power: Photo Exhibit
An exhibition of the powerful photographs
by Eddie Adams
is touring museums and galleries worldwide.
Adams is a renowned photo-journalist,
winner of the Pulitzer Price
and of other 500 photographic awards.
The exhibition began its international tour in September 2000 at The Corcoran Gallery, Washington, D.C., traveling thereafter to Boston, New York, Memphis, Jacksonville Fla, Chicago, the Olympics in Salt Lake City, and reaching countries such as Greece, Spain, Corea and Qatar.
The exhibition examines issues of human rights around the world covering everything from nuclear disarmament, to children in war, environmental activism, religious self-determination and sex slavery and consists of a series of contemporary silver gelatin prints of dramatic portraits taken on location in four continents over a period of two years, and wall text which employs quotations and excerpts from Kennedy's interviews of the human rights defenders.
This extraordinarily felt and insightful body of work, Eddie Adam’s first major show, celebrates the lives of an extraordinary group of courageous individuals worldwide.
In Italy the exhibition was shown from 2006 to 2008 in Auchan malls throughout Italy, in Lugano (Switzerland) in October 2008 and in Milan at the French Culture Institute in January 2009, reaching Bucharest in Romania from April to May 2009.
