Reassuring an Anxious World

(2012-02-01) Fifty years ago the world was in the grip of a cold war. The Berlin Wall marks a new and dangerous escalation in the conflict. The Attorney General and Mrs. Robert Kennedy embark on a goodwill tour of Asia and Europe. At every stop along the way, Robert Kennedy seeks to reassure an anxious world. The short video below captures some of what he said in his speeches "The Goals of Government," delivered on February 6, 1962 in Tokyo, Japan, and "The United States and the New Forces of the World," delivered on February 14, 1962, in Jakarta, Indonesia.
