Reconciliation

Reconciliation is the process through which normal relations are re-established between belligerents.
In regards to human rights, it refers to the peace process that follows social turmoils, civil war or dictatorship.

Many countries have designated Truth and Reconciliation Commissions, to investigate and disclose human rights violations and past wrongdoing by a government (or, depending on the circumstances, non-state actors also), to resolve conflicts left over from the past.
