Robert F. Kennedy Center - Europe (RFK Europe)

The Robert F. Kennedy Foundation of Europe (RFK Europe) was created in 2005 to promote and build on the work of the RFK Center for Justice and Human Rights, with a focus on bringing human rights education and advocacy programs to European schools and communities. Through its offices in Florence, Italy, RFK Europe extends its human rights education and advocacy programs across Europe, raising awareness and igniting change.

Projects:

Speak Truth To Power
Through Speak Truth To Power, RFK Europe tells the stories and struggles of human rights defenders in classrooms and boardrooms. The Speak Truth To Power human rights curriculum is being taught to students throughout Italy and Romania, and will be presented to 500,000 Italian high school students in the 2011-2012 school year. In 2012, the program will launch in Sweden.

Robert F. Kennedy Europe High School and University Journalism Award
In 2010, RFK Europe established the Robert F. Kennedy High School and University Journalism Award under the patronage of Premio Ischia Internazionale di Giornalismo—the Ischia International Journalism Prize. The award recognizes the achievements of youth who investigate human rights issues and advocate for change.

Robert F. Kennedy Europe Training Institute
In Florence, RFK Europe organizes training programs for high school teachers and increasingly engages with human rights leaders, executives, and nonprofit directors throughout Europe and other parts of the world to develop human rights and social justice strategies.
