One school participating in this year’s award is the Sir James Henderson School in Milan, Italy, an English-language school that has adopted the “Speak Truth To Power” curriculum during the last three years. |
Student Max Mancini, who helped organize Kerry Kennedy’s visit to the school last February, talked with schoolmates who are entering submissions for this year’s award and provided us with two students’ thoughts:
"I entered the Robert Kennedy Foundation award because over the past year, I have done extensive work on human rights across the globe. Writing about my experiences and being able to generalize from them was a great opportunity to reflect on what is to be done for human rights in the future." - Elettra Ardissino, Year 12B
"I decided to write for this competition because I wanted to challenge the media's opinion of the ROMA community. I found that the real conditions in which these people lived in was ful of dignity and honor. Rarely heard of in the media." - Edoardo Simone Paluan, Year 12B
